June 2021 | Shown at Keyes Art Mile (TMRW) | Johannesburg, SA
EVERYTHING IS BOTHERING ME is a video, with a paper installation exhibited in the Digital Gardens group show curated by Carly Whitaker. This took place at TMRW in the Keyes Art Mile in Johannesburg.
EVERYTHING IS BOTHERING ME follows entries by an unseen writer into a fictional digital diary computer application. The writer resorts to the offline digital diary app as a safe space for private expression – detached from the broader internet, but still serving their digital disposition. Ironically, you are reading.
The digital diary is frequented; it is a place to release their uncensored and nihilistic thoughts and emotions on the weight of life, capitalism, and the politics of their identity. Apathy, gloom, hope, frustration, and passionate rage are presented through what is typed out, and the computer responds. Why does the computer respond? Is anyone ever safe in digital spaces?

Null meditates on what the digital is, what art means, and what their fusion can become.
