'SCREEN TIME' is an augmented reality effect designed for Meta Spark that overlays a sleek, colourful digital screen texture onto the camera feed being captured. The name 'SCREEN TIME' nods to the meta quality in the experience, as the effect mimicks the moiré patterns often seen when recording a screen with your phone - the very device that the effect is accesible through. This underscores our deep connection with the digital world and our fascination with capturing and sharing our lives and surroundings.

Inspired by my fascination with the internet and digital culture, 'SCREEN TIME' blends simplicity with impact. Although it's simple, it's one of my favourite effects. The subtle pixelation that I added to the captured footage ties the concept and visual display together, and creates a social AR work that resonates with our screen-saturated lives.
