RACHEL, JACK, AND ALUTA TOO

RACHEL, JACK, AND ALUTA TOO (2024)
This voodoo doll is a very fun take on a unique way of presenting myself that I've really enjoyed lately. This pixel style is new to me and I've been incorporating the same weird and playful approach to dithering that can be seen here in other pixel art I've been doing. I've named this RACHEL, JACK, AND ALUTA TOO - a reference to Black Mirror's season 5, episode 3 titled Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too. In the episode, a lonely teen becomes obsessed with a robot doll based on her pop star idol, Ashley O. The pop star is exploited and ultimately poisoned for her ideas to be stolen and performed by a virtual version of herself. I found this story to be an interesting one to attach to an artwork starring a pixel voodoo doll.
